The Summer Reading Program at the Halliday Public Library is kicking off and there are two months of FUN planned. You can find the calendar of events below.
There are age categories for all participants for reading challenges throughout our program. Stop by the library to get signed up today! Whether you are reading or listening to audiobooks, or just want something fun to keep you busy this summer, this is for you!
Scavenger Hunts will take place each week, with a new one starting every Monday. They are for all ages!
Reading Picnics: All ages of patrons are encouraged to join in for our bi-weekly reading parties at the library! Bring your favorite snack (library appropriate), a comfy blanket, etc. and come to the library to read! You can get cozy indoors or outside!
Craft Days: There are specified days for crafts, and anyone is welcome to stop in and participate!
Story Time: Story times are encouraged for all ages of kids, and adults too! Crafts, snacks and activities will be provided at each story time event.
Specified Age Group Events: There are some events only geared for teens and adults and will be specified on the calendar. If the age is not specified, all are welcome to attend!
Reading Logs: Reading logs on the calendar are for our youth patrons to turn in weekly.

We encourage everyone in the community to come out and celebrate with the Library on July 30th, from 5-7pm, at the Halliday City Park for our end of program bash! The Halliday Lions Club will be serving burgers and hotdogs as a fundraiser for their club. There will be a touch-a-truck event, games, and prizes for the SRP participants will be drawn!
If you would like to sponsor one of our grand prizes, see the link below. If you would like to donate monetarily for our summer reading program, please reach out to Katlyn, the Library Director at: (701) 938-3707 or via email hallidaypubliclibrary@gmail.com.
